about
Little Place to Cry was written in the early 1960s by Keyko Crooks, who fronted the Westerners along with her brother Travis. The band performed weekly throughout the 1960s and 1970s at the world famous Broken Spoke dance hall in South Austin. While it was a regional hit at the time of its original release, Little Place to Cry was never officially published until 2023. This version features a very special guest: Alexa Dee Crooks, Keyko's granddaughter!
ALEXA DEE CROOKS, fiddle & vocals
DAVE BILLER, steel guitar
BEN SPARKS, bass
SCOTT CATER, guitar
KARRIE SHEEHAN, drums
I guess I'll go and find a little place to cry
Because you said goodbye
You said that we are through
You said you'll never have me or even set me free
Well I guess I'll go and find a little place to cry
You'll never know the heartache that I'm feeling inside
You'll never know how many lonely nights I've cried
They say our love was great, I guess it came too late
Well I guess I'll go and find a little place to cry
Well they say true love happens only once in a lifetime
And now I know now that I have found mine
They say your love was true but now our love is through
Well I guess I'll go find a little place to cry
