Solstice blues
Solstice blues
Fall is gone and winter is here
The sun hasn't rose
Cuz everyone knows
Today's the shortest day of the year
The kids are all home
They don't want to roam
They're asking me about old Saint Nick
I told them he's dead
Rudolph kicked his head
And that shut 'em up real quick
Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
I ain't ready for the yet
My beer's at the bottom
Give me back autumn
And light me up a cigarette
Solstice blues
Solstice blues
Another year of my life is done
The days will get long
I'll try to be strong
On our next trip around the sun
Del Domino joins the Shed Stomp family of artists with one of the world's only solstice-themed comedy songs, "Solstice Blues." The song is a parody of "Christmas in Jail," originally released in 1956 by The Youngsters.
"All I Want for Christmas Is You" is a worldwide smash hit that was written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff in 1994. The Shed Stompers' version features fuzzy guitars and moody synths backed by a traditional jazz rhythm section.
